A boy and his Grandpa.
There is something special about a boy and his Grandpa. Dean hasn't been to willing to let others hold him at family gatherings as of late, but he was willing to sit and talk to Gramps during our recent get together.

Fisk Family
This week we got together to celebrate the July birthdays in the family. Lately the Brad Fisk family is growing so quickly that it is easier to do birthdays and other events this way. There are 23 of us in all with two more on the way! Yipes! It is a lot of fun, but rather exhausting especially trying to corral all the cousins for a pic as we did here.

Dean Firsts
Dean is now proficient at pulling himself up on anything he can get a grip on, including Daddy's legs by the leg hair! He's also learned to walk around things. I am trying to convince him to let me "walk" him by just holding onto his hands, but he's not so sure about that. In the last couple of weeks, Dean has learned to clap his hands and say "Yeah!". I'm still never sure what he is celebrating, but it is cute. He's also learned the intonation "uh oh". I'm pretty sure he doesn't know what it means, but again way too cute. I keep trying to mention "Baby Abbie" but I don't think it's registering with him. Maybe once we start working on the nursery and rearranging things he'll understand that his perfect little world is changing. I am a little concerned about his possible response to Abbie as he is not fond of younger children at all. The other day he and Kyle went to have their hair cut at a friend's house and her little 6mo old boy was up playing. He is a very outgoing baby, so was smiling and cooing at Dean. Dean dissolved into a pile of tears and was rather clinging the rest of the time. Hmm.. something to be a matter of prayer.
Anyway, here are a few picks of Dean standing by the couch.

Siblings.
Maybe it's just a wishful mom here, but I think Abbie is going to look a lot like her brother based on their two ultrasounds. What do you think? :)

Dog Days of Summer (and it's only July!)
It seems summer is just flying by and yet I don't feel that I do much to help that illusion. We have been busy seeing family recently and then there was the fourth of course, but overall life consists of what I can accomplish either in the four hours a day that Dean naps (2,2 hr naps) or in the 3 hours in the middle of the day that he is awake. My house is finally at a relative state of clean thanks to me learning to spread out my chores and just do a little each day (usually during the am nap). We take frequent walks to keep me from putting on the prego weight too fast, but those have ended up being more in the evenings after dinner as that is when it's finally cool enough. It as actually worked out well though as Daddy comes with us and it provides opportunity for good talks. We have spent more time at the pool or in whatever water we can find! Last week when we went to Greeley to visit some of my family it was so hot that we stuck Dean in a washbasin of water and just let him play. He loved it! I am enjoying doing more baking and cooking for the family which works to expand my culinary skills and confidence. I also have more time for reading and resting. I have a feeling that as I move into the third trimester that I am going to appreciate the ability to rest more and more. So far the ability to rest when needed has made this pregnancy far easier and more healthy then my last. I have had minimal swelling (usually after long car rides only) and am still able to wear my wedding ring, which I had to take off around 5 months pregnant last time. My weight gain has been much slower and more healthy. I hope to continue that as the third trimester tends to be when you gain the most. Everything in moderation I say. Our house still hasn't sold, so we are looking for renters again. It's kind of a whatever comes first scenario at this point. If we can sell great, if not we'll rent. The double mortgage thing is killing us! God has been faithful though and I know all things will work out to His glory. I have some new pics of Dean that I will post later. He's now figured out how to pull himself up on just about everything. Today I caught him fiddling with the door knob on his bedroom door. Who knew he was that tall?
