First Haircut!
Dean's hair had finally gotten to the point that it needed a good trim. His hair still very fine and thin was looking very straggely(?), so the nest time Daddy went to get his hair cut by Ms Darci Dean went too! He was very good and didn't move too much. He wasn't scared at all just curious as to what was happening. As you can see his hair looks much nicer now!

Summertime!
Yeah! Summer's here! Tomorrow unofficially marks the beginning of summer and officially marks the end of my career as a nurse. We spent the weekend enjoying the warmer weather and the activities of summer. On Saturday, Dean played outside in his play pen while I worked in the garden. I think he spent more time watching the world go by then actually playing with his toys. Today, Kyle and I took Dean to the public pool near our house. He had such a blast and wasn't scared at all. In fact a few times when I was holding him in the water he would try to push me away. He was ready to conquer the world. We took a picnic lunch and all had lunch there right by the pool. We stayed for about two hours until the weather started turning cooler and the pool started filling up with bikini clad teeny-boppers and their wanna-be boyfriends. (sigh!) The one downfall of public pools. Dean had such a great time though that we will be back. In fact, we bought a multi-visit pass and hope to frequent the pool often this summer. Hopefully we can have cousins and or friends join us occasionally!

New Pics of Dean
I noticed I haven't been as diligent about taking photos of Dean recently. Opps! Here are some taken about a week ago. Dean is getting so tall now. He fits only in 18-24 months clothes. Craziness!

Mobility!!!!
Great news! (i think :) ) Dean started crawling yesterday. He finally figured out just a couple days ago how to get his knees under him and then it was just coordinating his movements. He doesn't go very fast yet, thank goodness, but still gets where he wants to go. We've baby proofed his room and that's where we allow him to crawl unhindered. He loves it and loves being able to explore his "world". Hopefully I'll get some pictures up soon of him crawling. He's kind of shy about it and doesn't really crawl on command yet. It's when we're not watching that he up and takes off.
Hmm.. let's see other news. We are having huge plumbing problems at our house. (Not again!) When our kitchen laundry room was remodeled it was not done up to code and now it's clogged and our crawl space is full of putrid water! Bleh! We have guys here working on things today. Argh! I hate it when people do things poorly. There's just some stuff it's not worth to go cheap on...like plumbing! Kyle is busy and is enjoying his job. He is able to play softball and be at home more too. I will be finishing work at the end of this month and am looking forward to having the freedom to do whatever with Dean this summer. I am still feeling well, though tire easily and have managed not the gain the same amount of weight so far as I did with the last pregnancy. I very occassionally feel the baby move, but I really have to be paying attention and lying still. I'm sure I'll feel more when the baby gets bigger.
All in all life is good and God is still great!

First Words
Dean has been "talking" for awhile now, but just recently we have been able to pick up on some of what he's saying. One word that has become more distinguishable is amen (sounds like nanen). We have prayed with Dean at bedtime from early on and he now has figured out that the word amen signifies the end of the prayer. Lately when he feels that Daddy has been praying too long he will start saying amen. I think it's hilarious! The simple faith of children.
In other news, I have been recovering from a nasty cold for the past week and now find myself faced with catching up on al lthe household chores that got neglected. Sometimes I think my 100+ year old house is made of dust. Where does it all come from anyway? In the midst of me being sick we finished the renovations on our rental property and now have it on the market. We are praying that it sells quickly and for a good price. So far we've have good traffic on it, so hopefully one of those showings will turn in to an offer. The house really looks great. I wish I had digital copies of how things looked when I bought it almost 5 years ago, so that I could post them in comparison to how they are now. What a change! I only wish we had done these things sooner so I could have enjoyed them. Oh well!
Happy May Day!
